GLYNNEATH PAEDOPHILE CONVICTION & GROUP SAFEGUARDING COMMITTEE
The Heathfield Court knife weilding paedo has been sentenced to 3 years and 4 months. He had a 15% discount for pleading guilty and after serving half of his term he will be released back into the community. Following his arrest two of the Glynneath News & Views admins got into conversation with the former councillor Mike Pugh on a member page who stated that.
" I know, as do many others, that there are other sex offenders in Glynneath."
It should be noted that Mike Pugh is a former Glynneath Town Clerk & Councillor who I believe has been living in Llanelli since January 2022. So how does he know this?
If we refer again to the methods used by Paul Lennox to entice young girls, Wales-on-Line states that
"a 66-year-old man sent someone he believed to be a 14-year-old girl a series of sexually explicit messages and videos after contacting her on Facebook"
The word Facebook is the key element here and combined with the statement of Mike Pugh, we the admins of this Facebook group have decided to set up a "Safeguarding Committee" for this group with a view to making it a safe space for the people of Glynneath. The purpose of the Safeguarding Committee will be to support members of this group should anything like the Paul Lennox incident happen to them and to pass the information on to the police etc. But also to potentially identify and monitor people like him in the style of the Neighbourhood Watch' scheme. We want to PREVENT these things happening in this community.
According to the Wales on line article Paul Lennox was already on a restraining order and had 18 previous convictions for 61 offences. It should also be noted that Paul Lennox had joined a Facebook group in Glynneath - not this one I assure you.
However, the fact that he had committed 61 previous recorded offences and he's
been living near schools and walking around in this community sends a warning shot across our bows that need's to be heeded. We need to wake up and take note of information like................
" I know, as do many others, that there are other sex offenders in Glynneath."
According to Mike Pugh, there are more nonces living in
Glynneath and many other people know who they are. We should
also consider the fact that if Lennox hadn't contacted a decoy but had instead spoken to a real child
in this community then he would still be living here in
Glynneath and God knows what would have happened to that child.
I believe the sooner we get a Safeguarding Committee up the better. If you are interested in becoming a member
