Dear CPS,
Thank you for your reply which I would consider to be an inappropriate referral in relation to the role of your organisation.
I would refer you to the role of the CPS as defined by the CPS website:
The CPS:
decides which cases should be prosecuted;
determines the appropriate charges in more serious or complex cases, and advises the police during the early stages of investigations;
prepares cases and presents them at court; and
provides information, assistance and support to victims and prosecution witnesses.
in particular I would draw your attention to the following extract "provides information, assistance and support to victims"
I would refer you also to a similar example in relation to 'forced marriages where you provide guidance on procedures to victims.
https://www.cps.gov.uk/publication/honour-based-violence-and-forced-marriage-guidance-identifying-and-flagging-cases
from the above information, I am specifically asking for information in relation to your role in supporting victims and the level of 'self defence' I can use as a victim considering that my local police force are refusing to investigate crimes being committed against my family and other families in this area. I have copied my MP only for her reference because of your inappropriate refrerral but what is clear from the definitions provided by your organisation about your organisation is that your organisation are responsible for defining the application of this legal guidance and so before I use self defence as a mechanism to protect me family in relation to the crimes being committed against us, I would ask please that you do your job and define the levels of self defence I require that may be considered to be approriate to the crime 'corporate manslaughter' . The legal guyidance I am enquiring about already exists and all I am askingb for is for it to be defined in relation to my case before I use it. Please see the thread of this email for the relevant information in relation to my case.
regards David Richards
