THE PLANNING PROCESS NOT FIT FOR PURPOSE |
THE NOTIFICATION &
PLANNING PROCESS IS NOT FIT FOR PURPOSE
What is clear from chatting with
the residents of our area, hardly anyone has an any idea about
what is going on with the planning application and in many cases
its:
What planning application? The council have failed to inform residents of the extent of the application and have confused residents by avoiding giving pertinent information in the title of the application. Who is responsible for determining the titles / relevant information on planning notices? The council planning process is clearly not fit for purpose. If we look at the purpose of the council: "Neath Port Talbot County Borough Council exists to serve and represent the interests of its citizens and communities. We strive to improve the economic, social, environmental and cultural well-being of all of our people." The planning process is clearly NOT FIT FOR PURPOSE |
Notices were placed on private property without the permission of the oweners and became unreadable within 24 hours.
Residents who live next to the development have not been directly informed
of the development. These include residents of Waun Gron who will have properties overlooking them and Brynhyfryd and Woodland Park residents. The neighbourhood consultation process is taking place during the COVID-19 pandemic. The council employees who are working at home expect over 70s to break UK Government isolation guidelines to view planning notices, none of which refer to the extent of the proposed development. |

Residents whose houses are likely to be affected by additional flooding
have not been directly informed of the development.

The NPTC council website has been broken and even if residents have the internet they are unable to download files relating to the planning application.
1/7/2020 | We have been living with yellow notices on our lampposts for the last 3 months. The Planning Department have placed new yellow notices over the top of the old yellow notices. Most residents have no idea that the notices have changed, even those who have them on lampposts outside their houses are unaware that new plans have been submitted.

The Planning website is still broken which beg the following questions to
be asked.
Have NPTC attempted to fix the problem? Is the broken website a deliberate an attempt to discourage residents from complaining against the development? |

The new information for the June planning fails to mention the habitat
survey. This is an important document because the focus is on the
conservation of the stream Enzo want to tunnel the stream and build houses
on top whereas the habitat survey identifies the stream as a
SITE OF IMPORTANCE FOR NATURE CONSERVATION |
