“Insofar as society is itself composed of de-individualized human beings, it is completely at the mercy of ruthless individualists. Let it band together into groups and organizations as much as it likes – it is just this banding together and the resultant extinction of the individual personality that makes it succumb so readily to a dictator. A million zeros joined together do not, unfortunately, add up to one.

Ultimately everything depends on the quality of the individual, but our fatally shortsighted age things only in terms of large numbers and mass organizations, though one would think that the world had seen more than enough of what a well disciplined mob can do in the hands of a single madman… People go on blithely organizing and believing in the sovereign remedy of mass action, without the least consciousness of the fact that the most powerful organizations in the world can be maintained only by the greatest ruthlessness of their leaders and the cheapest of slogans.

This video shows how the Neath Port Talbot Council Planning Department have approved the planning application P2020/0863 in March 2021 with the sole objective to remove the safety requirement of chemical testing from land that has previously been tested and found to be contaminated with toxic waste.

This planning approval allows the developer to break the Control of Pollution Act 1974 and the 1990 Environmental Protection Act to remove toxic waste from the site into a recycling facility in Powys without a licence and also to move it closer to homes in Glynneath which have already suffered deaths that can be linked to toxic waste.

Subsequent to this the Chair of the relevant scrutiny committee at the Neath Port Talbot Council can be seen to support the paltering of the public officials he is elected to regulate.

Introducing Barry. Ronnie's been regular this last week but tonight we had Barry visit us for the first time in about a month, that I know of, he's a secretive fella so he could have been sneaking in once we've gone to bed. He's called Barry because I believe he is 'Back Again' for the second year and was one of the 6 hedgehogs born under our shed in 2020.

Once again I bumped into Martin Rees on the Neath Canal, this time he was chatting with the Neath Harriers legend Dickie Bowen. We headed off together down the canal with the main topicw of discussion being the National 12 Stage Relays, Ian Hamer, Glanafan School and how he started running.
