Self learning without masters

According to Wikipedia, Autodidacticism (also autodidactism) or self-education (also self-learning and self-teaching) is education without the guidance of masters (such as teachers and professors) or institutions (such as schools). Generally, autodidacts are individuals who choose the subject they will study, their studying material, and the studying rhythm and time. Autodidacts may or may not have formal education, and their study may be either a complement or an alternative to formal education. Many notable contributions have been made by autodidacts.

The above definition is from Wikipedia which we use to define what is generally accepted by the public as a definition for a particular word or statement. In the relation to what we define as autodidacticism it is useful to look at the accepted list of famous autodidacts and make a summation on what learning resources each famous autodidact used to self-educate. If we look at Leonardo da Vinci for example, google didn't exist so he must have learnt in the main through observation and practice.................... etc

5 September 2023 - I've been training and perfecting for close on 55 years, how to pour squash out of a bottle so that the strength is perfect and its all been ruined by the move to double concentrate squash - My Mrs has the best idea to train me not to pour double concentrate in single strength measures by inventing the "double concentrate super duper indicators" to remind me before I pour. Well done Hayley :)

16 September 2023 - When will it ever end - Hayley came back from the shop and they only had the orange in single strength. I now have to learn to pour orange again in single and lemon in double and when I'm mixing them both together I'll be mixing them in single/double strength, upwards, backwards, around the corner with the fairies while climbing the nearest wall in an attempt to avoid or maybe just lessen my insanity.

Its almost 16 months since the former Glynneath Town Councillor Roger Simons went missing. A question most of us that knew him ask is.

What has happened to Roger?

I think its safe to say that unless he has left the area voluntarily without telling anyone and is in hiding somewhere, then he is dead. If this is the case, how did he die and where is his body?

The Facebook group "Search for Roger Simons" has concentrated in the main on searching for the location where Roger's body may be in Glynneath and the surrounding areas. We can see that there has been an attempt at co-ordinating a search but more recently, some of the comments that people are suggesting, is that his disappearance is suspicious and as such they are questioning the role of the police in the investigation.

These are some of the more recent comments from over 4 months ago..........

"I can't believe it's nearly 1yr that Roger Simons been missing for. Everyday I think and wonder where could he be or what's happened to him. I honestly think more should have been done by authorities. There is no way he would have gone anywhere unless forced. He is a human being despite what people may think of him and deserves to be found no matter what outcome will be. So sad"

"Someone knows something & hiding it away I think the police has something to do with it too covering for someone they've done it before , hopefully someone comes across him soon"

"This is awful, he’s a elderly gent and should have been found by now. SWP need to look into this again, a man of his age doesn’t just disappear"

Roger was a personal friend and I would like to suggest that we talk about his disappearance and how it is being dealt with by the police and the relevant authorities.
