Dear Mr Richards
Thank you for your email dated 30 July 2023 that was passed on to the Victim Liaison unit on 31 July 2023.
Unfortunately, we are not able to locate a file with the details that you have provided.
Our reference numbers are called Unique Reference Numbers (URNs) and look similar to this 62HA.... followed by 7 numbers.
If a file has been sent to the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) by the police it will have been given a URN. Please can I suggest that you contact the police asking for the number and to confirm whether the case has been sent to the CPS. Please could you also confirm whether this is a CPS prosecution, as it may be the Environment Agency or Natural Resources Wales who you need to contact.
I would therefore be grateful if you could provide as much of the following information as possible:
Unique Reference Number (URN);
The place(s) where the offence(s) occurred;
The police force that investigated the allegations and the name of the officer in the case;
The date(s) of the offence(s);
We look forward to receiving the additional information so that we may help you with your enquiry.
Yours sincerely - A Allabarton
