ITEM 2 NOTES

Interim Chairman

Role of the interim Chair as defined by Reform UK:
The party has begun identifying trusted individuals with a proven track-record in the party to take the lead in forming pilot Branches. These people will be recognised as the interim Branch Chair in their constituency.
This is a provisional position. The interim Chair has the ultimate responsibility for running the branch. They are the first point of
contact for HQ in the constituency. They are responsible for ensuring the interim officers carry out their duties – including the administration
of any funds raised, creating the Campaign Plan, and involving local members and supporters in the activities of the pilot branch.
The interim Chair has the authority to convene a meeting of members and supporters to establish a pilot branch.

Since the last meeting Reform UK have appointed me as Interim Chairman (see notes - CLICK HERE) of the new Brecon & Radnor, Cwm Tawe, Neath & Swansea East Senedd constituency with a directive to set up a pilot branch for the new constituency. The directive includes a list of tasks such as emailing every member and supporters in both branches with a follow up phone call. The expected workload is in my opinion impossible for me to carry out and so I have decided to ignore party guidelines and continue to develop this group in line with our original vision. With this in mind, I'm going to suggest that we rename this group the Brecon & Radnor, Cwm Tawe Neath & Swansea East Constituency Interim Branch (Brancsea for short) and take on board the party guidelines once the branch constitution has been supplied by the party. At this point we can drop the Interim and the branch set up will be complete.

(Dai Richards) as I see it, we have two choices here:

1. We can retain the Neath and Swansea East branch set up we have already created and create a new branch for the dual constituency

2. We can change the name of this branch to the Brecon & Radnor, Neath & Swansea East Constituency Interim Branch.

My preferred option is option 2 and then this would be be the proposed structure of the new constituency

southern group (us)

dividing line Llyn y fan Fawr to Beacons reservoir at the junction of the A47 & A4059. South of Defynnog. This means we will add Cwm Tawe to our constituency.

This will allow a northern group to be set up with a chair virtual role reversal

Officers: Chair (myself) Vice chair (Adam), treasurer (north south?), secretary (north south?), campaign co-ordinator (north south?)

all positions including the branch name will be INTERIM until the party provide the constitution at which point we will invite the members and supporters to join.
