Sorry. Right then, we will go to the pollution uh officer Mo um who I hope will have some of the answers to alleviate the concerns or the questions that councillors have raised so far.

All right. Thank you chair. Uh regards to um Councillor Hunt and the flooding question that he had. (Yeah) flooding is not even on my expertise that I actually can comment on. So my comments will be mainly related......

OK, stick to the pollution issues then, Yeah.

Okay. So um so, I go a little bit of history of the site just to help um answer Councillor Knoyle's question about the site investigations that have been done in the past. There was a site investigation in 2008 um which was um limited sampling quite shallow sampling and there was there was no asbestos sampling done at that time. Um then in 2019 in January and in March, Terra Firma did further sampling on site, again the sampling in my opinion wasn't sufficient. It was quite localized. most of the samples were at shallow depth and although they did asbestos monitoring sampling in the testing to me it wasn't enough because of considering the site as a whole. So, so the conditions that I've recommended have been ones that are to fully characterize the site which would be for human health, environment as Councillor Hunt has mentioned and the conditions the way they are written the site investigation and the desk study would mean that they would in order to fully characterize the site they would have to do testing at shallow level and at the deeper level. So which would which would mean um drilling down to the natural, up to where the depth of the main ground to understand what we have on site. Um from the reports that I've seen so far I've not seen any indication of there's been any sort of illegal tipping. Um what I all I've seen so far is um slightly elevated levels of contamination but these these levels that I've seen so far are nothing that would be of major concern in a normal development anywhere in the borough. Okay And they're quite easily to be the levels that we've got are quite easy to be mitigated.

Right. Okay. So, uh, the councillors that asked, councillor Knoyle, are you calmed by what you've heard from the pollution officer?

Maybe maybe not calmed,

I think basically what he's saying is that um you're not saying that there isn't contamination on the site. What uh he is saying is that he is not happy with the uh surveys up to now and that he has conditioned into uh this application that that would have to be satisfied he would have to be satisfied before building work could proceed. So Mo am I characterizing what...........

chair that's perfect. that's exactly what....
