The residents of Glynneath are concerned with the both the motives and In a social media exchange on the Glynneath, News and Views Facebook Forum between the MD of Enzo's Homes, Enzo Sauro and local residents, Mr Sauro was perceived to use threatening behaviour and derogatory comments towards Glynneath residents. In several exchanges Mr Sauro failed to back up any claims with documentary evidence. |
Dorothy Williams Enzo Sauro If Cuddy had not dumped illegally then there would have been no problem Unfortunately he left the ground high and dry when he decided to sell it or was forced to .Rules are there to protect everyone and everyone should abide by them
Enzo Sauro Dorothy Williams correct Dorothy and we have on the carting spoil away. But as for starting building how long do the athoraty want to get them gone it has taken 18 months. I should have not listened to the council and continued with the old consent which there were only 3 conditions left to discharge.
Dorothy Williams Enzo Sauro The problem is the land has toxic waste on there i know it is there as Cuddy dumped it .It doesn't matter who uses the land the problem is not going away
Enzo Sauro Dorothy Williams Incorrect it’s not it is inert actually!
Dorothy Williams Enzo Sauro well why were you stopped moving the stuff elsewhere
Enzo Sauro Dorothy Williams I was not. It’s because I started the foundation Read the condition and you will understand.
Dorothy Williams Enzo Sauro I have read it and the fact the council had said the soil was to be tested before removing it .Then suddenly suprise suprise all stops .Very strange when the rules had been broken
Enzo Sauro Dorothy Williams what do you all want in Glyneath 80 new family homes or the field as it is make up your minds pls
Dorothy Williams Enzo Sauro We haven't stopped anyone from building houses there at all.zThey would have looked lovely, but in all fairness who ever builds there must be prepared to abide by what ever rules have been actioned
Dai Richards Enzo Sauro We have eyewitness reports that have been supplied to the council planning department of barrels being dumped by Cuddy on the site. I suspect that you have not been told about this by the council. Our residents group have people who have lived next to the site for over 60 years, they have seen what has gone on there. You have been misled by the council. Your site is leaking toxic waste as we speak.
Enzo Sauro Dai Richards maybe you and Simon should take the development on as you are so well informed. Put your money where your mouth is Dai as it’s big enough
Dai Richards Enzo Sauro you can bad mouth me as much as you want but I am fighting for the safety of my family and the familes of this neighbourhood. Your flipant comments are a clear indication that you do not respect others.
Enzo Sauro Dai Richards incorrect as I different to you are fixing the issue you are just making it worse and spreading idle gossip as you must not have anything else to do
Dai Richards Enzo Sauro you shoulkd watch this video about the 2008 contamination test
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OcqDYTulk8s&t=658s
Chris Jones (initial post) ENZO have a legal "duty of care" to ensure that any waste is disposed of correctly.
This requires the waste to be tested and classified before it can be sent to a tip capable of accepting that classification of waste.
IF they have not tested it or IF they have "mis-classified" the waste, then they have broken the law.
I hope Glynneath Council will at least put this development on hold until they receive a comprehensive plan showing how this waste issue will not reoccur and how ENZO expect to get back into compliance with the planning board.
Anything less only condones their actions to date and encourages their blasé attitude.
Please see link below for "duty of care" code of practice.
https://www.gov.uk/.../waste-duty-of-care-code-of-practice
Chris Jones Rhys - I agree but do you want to work for a company that puts their operatives in danger. If they didn't know what is in the waste, how can they issue the correct PPE to the operatives for removing it.
The general consensus is there is nasty stuff in the ground.
For all we know they could have all been exposed to asbestos.
Enzo Sauro Chris Jones and you have tested the land have you I surgest you all think befor you speak and if anyone had the brain to call me I would have been more than happy to show testing results. But you rather spread idle gossip and stop my work force from earning we’ll needed income. Well done my friend
Chris Jones Enzo Sauro suggest you check your facts. Enzo was issued with a stop notice by NPT Council not I and that was done well before this post.
Rather than lashing out at the public why not try communicating with them instead.
Try explaining what caused the stop notice and what Enzo are doing to try and fix it.
If you have test results, publish them. I think its fair to say a majority won't understand them but at least they will have peace of mind of knowing they have been done and Enzo can point to them when challenged.
As the saying goes "The truth will set you free"
Enzo Sauro Chris Jones ask the local authority thay have had them long enough if thay would have dealt with the condition when thay should have we would not be in this situation. And for the record the reason why we were stoped was for starting the foundation. We have full authority to remove the spoil.
Simon continued
Dai Richards Enzo Sauro I happen to be aware that Simon Thomas has 2 chemistry degrees which makes him far more qualified to make statements on the contamination on the site than you.
Enzo Sauro Dai Richards then there should be problem then as all my testing is spot on and NRW happy
Enzo Sauro Simon Thomas this does not say about getting rid of all the spoil. The original concent aloud all the fill to come in. And the new concent takes the site back to original levels so inevitably it will have to go. So what is the issue here ??? No more comments from me
Simon Thomas Enzo Sauro The issue is you never had permission to start the work. You know this I know this. The conditions set out, clearly state you need to test the land properly first and you have not. Your actions are reckless at best, you’ve potentially put the health of local residents at risk. You continue to pedal your lies despite being faced with the facts. And if you do have the magical testing results that you so claim to have then please share.
Dai Richards Enzo Sauro - It would seem that Neath Port Talbot Council have failed to advise your company of the potential contaminatin on the site. The site has been tipped on for the majority of the last 100 years. It was a council ash tip up until the 1970s. The Environment Agency state that 100% of this type of tip is contaminated. Your company has clearly bought the land in good faith, however the contamination has been hidden by the council and by the Cuddy Group. We as residents are not against you building, we are against you moving the potentially contaminated land closer to our houses when you fill in the stream. There is more information on this page.
http://www.walk-around-wales.com/.../contaminated-land.htm
Enzo Sauro Simon Thomas again you are incorrect I do have the permission. To move the spoil You are not party to my Cora soo dance with local athoraty environmental department and NRW. You can say what you wish but the face remains who ever builds this development the spoil will be going. And as for your comments on residents Safty I fail to understand what you are saying here.
Simon Thomas Enzo Sauro Again I refer to the email I showed you earlier. Which states “In response I would advise that any such information formally submitted by the developer in respect of the above planning permission (including condition 36), including any subsequent notice approving such details, would form part of the public application record and be available to view online at https://planningonline.npt.gov.uk.” Which means that any permissions would be of public record. There is no public record of what you are claiming. I’d be happy to see the spoil removed. But if testing shows the land to be contaminated then I would want to see you demonstrate that it would be removed safely and not at the detriment of the safety of residents.
