SUNRISE & SUNSET |
My ambition is to see the sun rise & set in Wales on every day of the year, with this in mind I've started collecting photographs of the sunrises and sets that I witness. Ideally I should just buy a house with a conservatory or windows that can look both east and west, one day when I retire that's just what I'll do. Meanwhile here is my collection to date........... |

SUNRISE & SUNSET BLOG
4/11/2018 - Writing and recording information is a must when learning
new things. Buoyed by yesterday mornings success about predicting how
the sunrise would appear I'm going to make notes (hopefully) to help
myself and others fine tune how to predict the best place to see a
sunrise or sunset, when its worth making an effort, and when its not.

4/11/2018 - My prediction for this morning was no sunrise, we've been in a low for around 36 hours now with the weather heading eastward. I'd set my alarm to check the sky 60 minutes before sunrise and there were clear patches and with the moon and stars visible. Craig y Llyn was clear so I immediately packed and headed out to C-y-L with 45 minutes to go intending to watch sunrise from the ridge. As I climbed the Rhigos mountain the cloud descended on C-y-L so I changed tack and headed out onto Hirwaun Common and Pistyll-y-Graig. I got there just as the sun was rising behind a bank of cloud, some of which was lower than me. My prediction was correct but the weather was good, very little wind and only a touch of a chill so I enjoyed the walk and the opportunity to organise some thoughts. |
