NTAY  BARRELS OF TOXIC WASTE RESIDENT EVIDENCE SUBMITTED TO NEATH PORT TALBOT PLANNING COMMITTEE

This is the third interview with Brynhyfryd resident Nigel Taylor about the barrels he witnessed being brought onto the Heol y Glyn landfill site circa 2010-2012. The first interview took place in March 2020 and the information was provided to the Glynneath Councillors Del Morgan and Simon Knoyle in April 2020, to Natural Resources Wales and the Contaminated Land Officer in July 2020. It was presented to the Planning Committee in the agenda document in September 2020. It is October 2023 and the land has still not been checked for the barrels. Natural Resources Wales say it is too expensive and Neath Port Talbot Council have approved plans for the developer to move the land closer to peoples houses or off the site without any chemical contamination testing taking place. At least 10 people have now died living close to the site whose deaths can potentially be linked to land contamination.

Chris Williams is the current Mayor of Neath-Port Talbot and was a member of the Planning Committee that approved the Enzo Homes plans to build on the site in September 2020. Community opinion is that his wife Sian died of un-natural causes, believed to be from complications during an operation at hospital. this may have followed neurodegenerative episode. It is believed that she died soon after Nigel told them about the dump. Poisons were identified at the site in 2008 and Neath port Talbot Council worked with the Cuddy Group to avoid regulation testing on the site. Chris Williams moved out of the area shortly after that, he refused to provide information about his wife's death after being told we were investigating the health of residents surrounding the site. This was shortly before the Planning Committee meeting. He was provided information about the 2008 contamination before the Planning Committee meeting which breaks councillor guidelines.

THIS IS PREJUDICIAL INTEREST

He should have declared that he had prejudicial interest in the site and he should have stepped down from the meeting. He did not.

SUBSEQUENT TO THE PLANNING APPROVAL THE PLANNING DEPARTMENT ALLOWED THE SAFETY TESTING TO BE REMOVED FROM THE AREA IN WHICH THE BARRELS WERE TIPPED

P2020/0863

THIS ALLOWS APPROXIMATELY 20,000 CUBIC METRES TO BE MOVED CLOSER TO THE HOUSES SURROUNDING THE SITE.
